Student Leadership Corps (SLC) provides intensive computing experience for Auburn students, made possible by Auburn's involvement in a National Science Foundation-funded grant, The STARS Alliance: A Southeastern Partnership for Diverse Participation in Computing. The goal of this three-year grant is to broaden participation in computing by implementing, disseminating, and institutionalizing effective practices for recruiting, bridging, and graduating into computing disciplines for women, under-represented minorities, and persons with disabilities. Students who are accepted to this project receive a stipend, computer mentoring, project experience, and monthly seminars, in addition to attending a free summer workshop and learning about cool computing concepts, skills, and careers!
