Study Abroad - Summer 2025

The Auburn University Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has several exciting opportunities to earn course credit and valuable industry experience while experiencing a new culture! Students will work with international companies to solve engineering problems. These groups will work towards a solution following a standard problem-solving structure by working Monday through Thursday with weekly presentations demonstrating progress and then culminating in final project presentations at the end of the trip.

Pamplona, Spain

Join us for a six-week study abroad program in Pamplona, Spain! This program is through a partnership with CITI Navarra.

  • The program is open to all engineering majors with a 2.25 GPA or higher. Students will work on a team project with a European company.
  • Bootcamp Sessions (completed online): May 12
  • Study Abroad Trip: May 18-June 27
  • Students select 3 to 13 hours from INSY 3600 Engineering Economics, PHIL 1110 Ethics in Science, BUSI/ENGR 3500 Leadership in Engineering & Business Theory, INSY 4610 International Engineering Project, INSY 4970/7750 Intellectual Property, Legal, and Venture Capital, INSY 5010/6010 Occupational Safety Engineering
  • Program fee: $9,450 - Includes tuition, housing, breakfast and lunch M-Th, local transportation, city tours. Does not include airfare, dinner, passport and visa, Auburn abroad fee ($774), CoE professional fee ($721). Scholarship opportunities are available.

Würzburg, Germany

International BET (Spain & Germany)

Students earning the Business-Engineering-Technology minor have the opportunity to complete the second year of the BET minor during an 8-week trip beginning in Pamplona, Spain and finishing in Würzburg, Germany through this once in a lifetime international experience! 

  • The program is open to all BET students with a 2.25 GPA or higher. Students will work on a team project with a German company.
  • Bootcamp Sessions (completed online): May 12
  • Study Abroad Trip: May 18-July 12
  • Students select 8 to 13 hours from BUSI/ENGR 5530 International Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation, BUSI/ENGR 5540 International BET Capstone, BUSI/ENGR 3500 Leadership in Engineering & Business Theory, INSY 4970/7750 Intellectual Property, Legal, and Venture Capital, INSY 5010/6010 Occupational Safety Engineering, and PHIL 1110
