Venue and Accommodation

Auburn University is located in the central southeastern U.S., approximately 100 miles (160 km) southwest of the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.  Shuttles between AU and ATL are available in 1.5-hour increments (16 trips per 24-hour). The historic town of Auburn Alabama is home to approximately 65,000 residents and is often referred to by locals as “the loveliest village on the plains”.  Auburn University is a prominent research and education institution with approximately 30,000 students.  Technical sessions and meetings will be held at AU facilities, including the new 142,000 sq ft Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center.  Hotel accommodations include The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center, which is conveniently located adjacent to the university and the city center.

Hotel Information

A group rate is available at The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center.  To book your room at the conference group rate please click the “Book Now” link below or call reservations and reference the International Conference on Protective Structures.  There are a limited number of rooms available at this rate. The cutoff date for the group rate is Thursday, April 13, 2023. 

The Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center honors Federal per diem rates for qualifying US Federal employees. Delegates wishing to make a reservation at the Federal per diem rate should email Sheila Daughtry at Proof of federal government employment is required at check-in.

Airport Transportation

Groome Transportation provides shuttle service from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to our AU Hotel Conference Center as well as some other locations in Auburn. Reservations are required and can be made online at   The Atlanta airport is on Eastern Time and Auburn is on Central Time.
