What Is ALABAMA CONSTRUCTION STORMWATER PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
The Alabama Construction Stormwater Professionals program (ACSP) is a state-recognized certification for Qualified Credentialed Professionals (QCPs). This program, developed in partnership with Auburn University’s Stormwater Research Facility, ensures that construction professionals are equipped to manage erosion, sediment, and stormwater pollution on job sites. The ACSP program meets the requirements set by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the Construction General Permit (CGP)
What You’ll Learn
Through classroom instruction and extensive hands-on field training, participants learn:
- NPDES compliance and the history of stormwater regulation
- How to prepare and implement Construction Best Management Practices Plans (CBMPP)
- Erosion and sediment control techniques
- Permit requirements, allowable and prohibited discharges, and water quality standards
- Inspection, maintenance, and reporting responsibilities
- Real-world examples of stormwater impacts and solutions
