Electrical engineering graduate online program named among best in nation
The College of Engineering’s online master of electrical engineering recently ranked No. 15 among the 25 Best Online Master’s in Electrical Engineering Programs, according to TheBestSchools.org for 2018.
The publication compiled its national rankings based on six informational categories — academic excellence based on a school’s curriculum generally or within the selected discipline, strength of faculty scholarship, college’s reputation, financial aid, range of degree programs and strength of online instruction methodology.
“This ranking is a testament to the quality and caliber of our electrical engineering graduate online degree,” said Mark Nelms, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. “We have worked hard to provide a degree that is relevant to today’s world and offers the on-campus equivalent experience to our online students. This truly is an honor and reinforces our commitment to provide the best engineering graduate experience for both our on campus and online students,” he said.
The non-thesis degree equips students with the knowledge and experience needed in diverse industries from power distribution biomedical research. Students who graduate will have a strong knowledge and breadth in multiple fields of their choice, such as control systems and robotics, digital signal processing and communications, wireless engineering, eletromagnetics modeling and analysis, microelectronics and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), power systems, digital systems and computer engineering.
