Graduate Certificate in Power Engineering

The Graduate Certificate in Power Engineering recognizes completion of 12 semester credit-hours of graduate level coursework in the field of Power Engineering. A very rich selection of courses is regularly offered. The certificate program is available to both on-campus and distance students.

The ideal applicant has at least undergraduate-level proficiency in electric power engineering, comparable to the continuing education course Fundamentals of Electric Power Engineering (24 hours = 2.4 CEUs) that is offered as a Professional Development program.

Students already enrolled in an ECE graduate degree program may request adding the Graduate Certificate to their curriculum -- Contact the ECE Graduate Program Officer.

New applicants should submit an online application through the Graduate School. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are not required, but are desirable. Letters of recommendation should also be submitted through the online application system.

Note that the Graduate Certificate in Power Engineering is earned separate from other graduate-level degrees offered by the Department. Credits earned for the Graduate Certificate may be later applied, however, toward earning a Master or PhD degree.
