GE Appliances, Louisville KY

What was the application process like?
Smooth, gave my Resume and got an interview by the end of the week and then the offer by the end of the next. Not many opportunities for summer though.
Tell us about your internship experience. What types of tasks and projects did you engage in? Was there a particular project or part of the experience you learned the most from?
I participated in 2 Jishukens (continuous improvement of the line) (saving over $1 million for the company each time) I was a part of an AI/A3 Competition where my team built an AI tariff Calculator called TeriffIQ, which conservatively has the capabilities of saving the company over a million dollars each year and won the whole competition winning R&R worth $1500.
In what ways did this internship help you prepare for your next destination after Auburn?
My First year Seminar class prepared me to work together with others, no matter their background or majors.
In what ways did your coursework or other experiences at Auburn prepare you for your internships? Are there specific topics or skills you learned from classes that you put into practice on the job?
My coursework at Auburn prepared me for this experience through the working engineering knowledge intuition that my professors taught me.
Do you have any advice for other students looking for internships like yours?
Put yourself out there and talk with people, I had trouble lining up opportunities over the summer even before my extension her at GEA. Having yourself stand out from the other candidates is the most important thing you can do, whether that is through experience or even just talking to a recruiter.
