Hannah Vosteen
Software Engineering
Where did you intern?
Orlando Health Baptist Health in Birmingham Alabama
How did you find and apply for your internship?
I sent my resume straight to the manager. Best way to be seen is straight to the source.
What was the application process like?
The application process was I asked around multiple people if they knew about openings of jobs around my field and found someone. I sent my application and resume. The Interview was nice and in person.
Tell us about your internship experience. What types of tasks and projects did you engage in? Was there a particular project or part of the experience you learned the most from?
I worked around 5 different Baptist Health hospitals over Alabama and worked on a special project for the network Epic switchover. I worked with hospital equipment around the hospitals.
In what ways did this internship help you prepare for your next destination after Auburn?
This prepared me for my next destination by allowing me to see a bigger picture of what actual tech is beyond just my classes. Before this job I had never seen hospital equipment, now I have learned and taught myself more along the way.
In what ways did your coursework or other experiences at Auburn prepare you for your internships? Are there specific topics or skills you learned from classes that you put into practice on the job?
Skills within networking and VLan and Switches were extremely helpful knowledge for this job to understand if there is a problem on the back end how I can help fix it on my side.
