Electrical Engineering Internship Story: Amentum Huntsville
Reagan Brown
Electrical Engineering
What company did you intern with and where are they located?
Amentum in Huntsville AL
How did you identify and apply for your co-op? Are there any specific resources you used to find the opportunity (i.e. Handshake, career fairs, other recruitment events)?
LinkedIn. My dad helped me look for many internships in Huntsville!
What was the application process like?
I submit my resume and answered some specific questions. Overall it didn’t take a long time.
Tell us about your experience. What types of tasks and projects did you engage in? Was there a particular project or part of the experience you learned the most from?
I was a test engineer intern. I did cable building, circuit design and testing, arduino coding and research.
In what ways did this experience help you prepare for your next destination after Auburn?
It gets me a better look to see if I want to work in Space once I graduate. It also gave me real life experience with the hands on elements and what it takes to set up tests.
In what ways did your coursework or other experiences at Auburn prepare you for your co-op? Are there specific topics or skills you learned from classes that you put into practice on the job?
I haven’t done many electrical classes, but my basic level of circuits helped with design and testing. I would definitely recommend getting as much lab experience as you can.
