The program allows 1 retake after a minimum 7 calendar day duration between the first exam. After unsuccessful completion on the second exam, the individual must retake the course to attempt the certification exam.
In general, if an individual fails the exam, the course reexamination fee is as follows
Re-Exam Fee QC Manager Course = $150.00
Re-Exam Fee Inspector Course = $150.00
Re-Exam Fee Lab Technician Course = $150.00
Reexaminations can be scheduled and performed at NCAT or Asphalt Institute once the fees above have been received. If any individual chooses to re-take the exam at a proctoring agency as outlined below, the individual is responsible for any fees for NCAT or Asphalt Institute as well as any proctoring service fees.
For CONUS individuals, reexaminations can also occur at a local library or community college, as long as the local library or other proctoring agency has an exam proctoring coordinator or equivalent. If seeking a local library or community college for proctoring services, provide all required information by the proctoring service to the AACP representative which received the pre-requisite information. For OCONUS individuals, other proctoring services such as a local universities or a local USACE office will also be acceptable if coordinated with a local POC in the area and approved by the AACP Management Committee. The test taker is responsible for all coordination and providing the necessary information for the AACP Management Committee to determine appropriateness.
Test taker is responsible for providing a postage paid envelope that can be sealed by the proctoring agency to send the completed test back. Tests should be sent back to:

Coordination timeline with local USACE offices may exceed the desire by the test taker.
At a minimum the proctoring service will be able to:
Provide reasonably quiet space for individuals to undertake the exam
Verify individuals identification card
Present Exam Materials
Review Exam Instructions
Monitor test taker (at a reasonable distance) – one-on-one is not required.
Monitor Exam Time
Send completed exams back. Test takers are not allowed to send their own tests back.
