From the smart phone you can't live without, to developing the latest technological innovations that change the course of everyday life, computer science and software engineers are making a global impact now and in the future.

According to PwC’s 2025 Global AI Jobs Barometer, Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills make job seekers more valuable with a 56% wage premium. Cyberseek’s Cybersecurity Supply/Demand Heat Map reports that there are 500,000+ Cybersecurity-related jobs available in 2025 in the US. The Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) Department trains undergraduate and graduate students for these jobs, by providing them specialized skills in AI and Cybersecurity as well as a solid foundation in CSSE. The department offers Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Software Engineering, and Bachelor of Computer Science (online) degrees, Master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, and Data Science & Engineering, and Master’s and PhD degrees in CSSE. All degrees equip graduates with fundamental knowledge and practical skills for the job markets of today and tomorrow. Master’s degrees are offered in the hybrid mode, with on-campus and online students completing the same rigorous courses/curricula that prepare them to address technical challenges in business and industry. Computer scientists and engineers that CSSE graduates are not programmers, but designers and architects who have the skills to apply the most advanced technology and tools, such as vibe coding and prompt engineering with generative AI, to design and build computational solutions that solve problems and enhance productivity in every industry. Doctoral graduates from CSSE conduct cutting edge research and development in industry and universities to advance the frontiers of knowledge.
