The Alabama Micro/Nano Science and Technology Center is sponsored by the state of Alabama and is the premier micro/nano fabrication center in the state. The mission of AMNSTC is “to advance microelectronics science, technology and education by providing facilities that encourage interdisciplinary research and educational activities within Auburn University and the state of Alabama." This is accomplished by providing a useful set of micro/nano fabrication and characterization tools that can be accessed by faculty, staff and students at Auburn University, as well as by scientists and engineers from other institutions and companies within the state and local region. The center supports activities that focus on basic, long term research, while also addressing the shorter term technological needs of the semiconductor and electronics industries. Research in AMNSTC is highly interdisciplinary, reflecting the multi-faceted nature of the fields of micro/nano science and engineering. AMNSTC enjoys strong industrial and government support for its numerous research projects, which ensures that student training and research results have direct relevance to industry and government needs. We are excited to be at the forefront of microelectronics research and education, and we welcome the opportunity to share that excitement with you.
