| Reading Files in PDF
Format
Revised: Summer 2001
What is PDF Format? Many of the handouts, lecture notes, solutions and exams I have posted to the web are generated in PDF format.Files in Portable Document Format (PDF) from Adobe Systems Incorporated can embed graphics, equations, and other elements as well as be effectively viewed across computing platforms. Using other graphical formats for this sort of information makes these elements difficult to read and print from the web. Using the Adobe Acrobat Reader software and browser plug-ins allow for easy printing and user selected magnification to view even small details. How do I use Adobe Acrobat Reader? If you are reading this from the Auburn College of Engineering site, Acrobat Reader is already installed in the web browser. Simply click on the link you wish to display. If you would like to install this software product at home, link to the site below for a free view program and/or net-browser plug-in.
