JP and Cari Ossenfort

How did you meet?
Mutual friends at Auburn invited us both to Lakeview Baptist Church one Sunday during the fall quarter our freshman year at Auburn. We met at lunch after church and realized we had some mutual connections. We dated most of our time in school and eventually got married there.
What is your favorite class or organization you were part of while at Auburn?
As an EE student I don't know that I had a favorite class but I know E-mag (electromagnetics) was my least favorite! I know my favorite study spot was in the Green room in the basement of Broun Hall. JP was in the AU marching band and we both had a ton of friendships/roommates that we met in Cru (formerly Campus Crusade).
Where are you now? Tell us about your engineering journey after graduation!
We moved to Dallas, Texas right after graduation. We have moved away twice now but both times found our way back to Texas where our two sons were born. I am the SVP/GM of Naval Electronics, a business unit at Leonardo DRS. I started in semiconductor process engineering thanks to my co-op at the Alabama Microelectronics Science and Technology Center (AMSTC) there in Broun Hall. I worked for around 10 years at Texas Instruments, then spent the next 10 years after that at 3 other companies working my way from engineering into operations and then business leadership (I also have an MBA that I got through Auburn's Outreach Program). JP also had a career in semiconductors that started at AMSTC. He has worked as a product engineer at Raytheon, Texas Instruments, and DRS before his current role as Senior Quality Engineer at Honeywell’s Richardson Sensor Factory.
What is your favorite Auburn tradition?
For me it is the school spirit! I still find myself with a ton of orange and blue (and no red) in my wardrobe! We even had an orange and blue wedding!! I see people all over the world and it always warms my heart to hear a 'War Eagle' and shout it right back. We still love to come back to Auburn for games, especially now that our oldest son, Cale, is a freshman there in the Professional Flight program.
