Susan and nurses moved Stevie back
to the ABI* at 11am. Pain continues but with no therapy scheduled,
she was able to sleep most of the day. Tomorrow full therapy schedule. Quoting her nurse “It’s gonna
be tough”. As difficult as it is for Stevie, it is the right thing to do. The incisions are healing well and there are
no signs of infection. She needs to
start to get her strength back.
Operative cultures and blood sample cultures taken daily
since the operation have all been negative.
The incisions look significantly better than those of her other three hip
surgeries at the equivalent point. A two
week antibiotic regimen is now planned – significantly less than the 4-6 weeks
they were suggesting just a week ago.
Yes, all very positive!
Susan left for Auburn
at 3:30pm ostensibly to help Stacey
get ready the band trip to Williamsburg
et.al.,
generally check things out and to visit her class – all a rouge so she can love
on the dogs. She and Spenser will return
Friday after school.
