The NextPAVE Challenge is a unique opportunity to showcase and validate transformative pavement technologies. This challenge provides a structured evaluation process that could lead to real-world implementation, whether you have an innovative material, a cutting-edge additive, or a breakthrough process.
Participants will undergo rigorous laboratory testing, engineering modeling, and a scalability assessment. The technologies will be evaluated in FlexPave and PerROAD pavement models to determine their feasibility and potential impact.
Technologies that advance past the initial assessment will participate in a group evaluation, where an independent panel of experts will review and decide which technologies hold the greatest promise.
Cost: Companies will pay $25,000 to participate in Phase 1. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is available for those who prefer confidential testing results but will forfeit advancement to Phase 2.
Selected technologies will advance to full-scale validation at the NCAT Test Track in 2027. This phase allows for accelerated real-world testing, equivalent to evaluating a pavement’s 15-year lifespan in just 3 years.
Phase 2 is fully funded by a consortium of state highway agencies and private-sector organizations interested in adopting high-performance pavement innovations.
Interested companies must submit a Letter of Interest by September 30, 2025.
Don’t miss this opportunity to bring your innovation to the future of pavements.
