As we work to decarbonize asphalt pavements under NAPA’s The Road Forward initiative, NAPA and NCAT have established the NextPAVE Challenge. This competition seeks emerging low-carbon pavement technologies that provide viable pathways toward net zero GWP emissions.
The competition invites companies to have their carbon-reducing technologies evaluated through a transparent process. Participants will undergo laboratory characterization, state-of-the-art pavement modeling, and Environmental Product Declarations or verified Life Cycle Assessments.
An independent panel of expert judges will select the top technologies to be featured and validated on the 2027 (10th) cycle of the NCAT Test Track. This track has long been a hub for testing and validating cutting-edge innovations in the asphalt industry.
