SIGMA GAMMA TAU |
SGT has been recognizing outstanding students of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University since its inception in 1965. While junior and senior students are the primary initiates, faculty, graduate students, alumni, and in exceptional cases, sophomores are also initiated from time to time. Initiations are held in the fall and spring of each year. The VP is in charge of the nomination process. Nominations for membership are solicited from faculty and members of the society. The nominees are then sent questionnaires to be filled in and submitted.
To be considered for membership, undergraduate students must have completed 5 quarters at AU, must be in the upper 1/3 of their class if a senior; upper 1/4 of their class if a junior; and upper 1/5 of their class if a sophomore. Candidates for membership must also have shown qualities of high moral character and an active interest in aeronautics and astronautics.
