Thirteen engineering students presented with Auburn University Outstanding Graduate Student Awards

Auburn Engineering’s graduate programs were ranked No. 32 nationally among public institutions, and No. 1 in the state, this past spring by U.S. News and World Report.
Thirteen Auburn Engineering students — six master’s and seven doctoral — were presented with 2026 Outstanding Graduate Student Awards this past spring by the Auburn University Graduate School and Graduate Student Council.
Outstanding master’s students were: Paxton Albright (mechanical engineering), Patrick Eid (aerospace engineering), Elek Kozma (mechanical engineering), Joseph Moore (electrical and computer engineering), Weiss O’Connor (industrial and systems engineering) and Ranveer Singh (biosystems engineering).
Outstanding doctoral students were: Ayuba Akinpelu (chemical engineering), Rajan Bhandari (aerospace engineering), Rebecca Etter (civil and environmental engineering), Rhet Hailey (mechanical engineering), Joshita Majumdar (electrical and computer engineering), Byung-II Noh (materials engineering) and Nilanjana Raychawdhary (computer science and software engineering).
In total, 46 Auburn University graduate students were recognized.
“We are exceptionally proud of these graduate students and the dedication, talent and perseverance that not only led to this recognition, but will steer them to future success,” said Maria Auad, associate dean for graduate studies and faculty development.
“Our graduate students conduct impactful research, tackle complex challenges and advance knowledge in ways that benefit communities in Alabama and beyond. Their success reflects the strength of our graduate programs, the mentorship of our faculty and a culture that encourages innovation and discovery. These students represent the future of engineering, and it is rewarding to see their hard work recognized.”
