Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering hosted more than 110 students and family members during two sessions in March and April as part of the college’s Future Engineer Fest.

The event is designed to bring admitted students to campus to give them, and their families, a glimpse into what campus life is like for an engineering student. The students came from 18 states, and each had the opportunity to mingle with their possible future classmates.

The Future Engineer Fest has proven to be a huge factor in students making their ultimate college decision, with more than 80% of attendees having paid their enrollment deposit for the fall 2025 semester.

“This is a great event and opportunity for our admitted students and their parents to get to see what it’s really like to be an Auburn engineer,” said Andrew McGill, manager of engineering recruitment. “We want these students and their parents to know that we are with them as they make this huge decision for their future, and we want to show them why Auburn is the best student-centered engineering experience in America.”

The event included breakout sessions with the Engineering Student Services team to discuss academic success and student support services; a session with Mario Eden, dean of engineering; games and prizes; panel sessions made up of faculty and staff to address any parental concerns; and personalized student tours that allowed Cupola Engineering Ambassador guides to share personal experiences with the prospective students. The tours also included showing off areas of campus, such as dining, the rec center and others that aren’t generally included in a normal Cupola tour.

A survey following the event revealed that 100% of respondents rated the event an “excellent experience” and 70% of respondents strongly agreed that this event had a major impact on their final college decision.
