Auburn Alumni Engineering Council inducts Class of 2030

The Auburn Alumni Engineering Council inducted seven new members during its annual spring meeting in April in the Brown-Kopel Center.

Each council class is active for five years, and those inducted into the Class of 2030 were:

  • Sharlene Evans, ’86 industrial engineering, managing director at Levers Unlimited
  • Sean Irby, ’82 civil engineering, retired vice president of global operations and supply chain at Printronix
  • Ken McCormick, ’90 mechanical engineering, senior director of space, intelligence and weapon systems design engineering at Boeing
  • Frank McFadden, ’81 and ‘84 civil engineering, president of McFadden Engineering and founder and CEO of Water Reclamation Systems LLC , dba Oxyshark
  • Beth Parola, ’91 chemical engineering, area vice president of the North American chemicals division at Nalco Water
  • David Stejskal, ’00 and ’02 civil engineering, vice president and director of operations for South Atlantic Water at Jacobs
  • Steve Swinson, ’81 mechanical engineering, retired president and CEO of Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO)

“This year’s class is an outstanding group of Auburn engineers,” said Gerald Pouncey, ’82 chemical engineering, who serves as chair of the council and chairman of Morris, Manning & Martin. “The Auburn Alumni Engineering Council’s mission is to assist and support the dean and the goals of the college. I couldn’t think of a more talented and experienced group of leaders who are better suited to help continue to move this college, that we all love, to even greater heights.”

During the recent spring meeting, the council received an update from Mario Eden, dean of engineering, and addressed other matters to provide leadership and participation in areas such as academics, fundraising, governmental affairs, public relations and more. The group also approved its slate of award winners, which will be presented during the fall banquet.

The Auburn Alumni Engineering Council’s next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 12-13.

The Auburn Alumni Engineering Council was established in 1965 and is a group of Auburn Engineering alumni who work together to support the vision and goals of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. The council meets twice annually to assist and advise the college, and its members serve on various of committees geared to the mission and operation of the college. Council members are an active and valued component of the College of Engineering family. They demonstrate a continuing commitment to move the college to new levels of excellence and take its place among the nation’s premier engineering institutions. The council provides leadership and participation in areas such as academics, development, governmental affairs, public relations and more.
