Enrollment Breaks Record

A record number of new freshmen helped push Auburn University's enrollment to an all-time high. Auburn's fall 2005 total enrollment of 23,333 exceeds its previous record of 23,276, set in fall semester of the 02-03 academic year.

Among reasons cited for the increase are the efforts of Auburn's Camp War Eagle student counselors, who hosted a record 4,155 campers at Auburn's award-winning orientation sessions.

Fall 05 enrollment in the mechanical engineering program — the highest of any department in the university — shows a marked increase from 2003 to present.
