Awards reception for Alumni, Faculty, and Students

Kathleen DonovanKathleen Donovan, a native of Seminole, Ala., has been named the 2004-2005 Outstanding Undergraduate Student by the Department of Civil Engineering. Donovan graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering this spring. She was also awarded the Austin Barry National Chi Epsilon scholarship in 2004. She plans to pursue a master's degree in the environmental engineering area at Georgia Tech in the fall.

Molly HughesMolly Hughes has been named the 2004-2005 Outstanding Civil Engineering Faculty Member. She was chosen by civil engineering students in part to recognize excellence in the teaching of steel design. Hughes received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from Auburn University and her doctoral degree from Georgia Tech. She worked for the U.S. Air Force at Tyndall Air Force Base prior to joining the faculty at Auburn in 2003.

Jeffrey Stone Jeffrey Stone has been named the 2004-2005 Outstanding Civil Engineering Alumnus. After graduation from Auburn, Stone joined Birmingham-based general contractor, Brasfield & Gorrie. He began his career in estimating and progressed through the ranks of project management, managing office, retail and hospital projects in Alabama and Florida. In his current role as chief operating officer, he oversees operations for more than $1.5 billion in annual construction revenues spread across five offices, 19 operating divisions and projects in 22 states. Consistently ranked in the top 50 largest construction companies in the United States, Brasfield & Gorrie provides general contracting and construction management services in a diversity of markets.
