Classroom 216 in Auburn University's Harbert Engineering Center has been dedicated to Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie in recognition of 20 years of outstanding contributions to the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

Keynoting the dedication ceremonies, Auburn Provost John Heilman noted, "During these times of limited state appropriations, Brasfield & Gorrie has made it possible for students to receive instructional technologies that are on the cutting edge. This classroom represents a cornerstone of excellence, a classroom of the 21st century."

According to Engineering News Record magazine, the Forbes 500 company ranks 44th among the nation's top 400 contractors, based on annual contract awards of more than $1.05 billion. The company currently employs 37 Auburn Engineering graduates.

"We are happy to contribute to Auburn's College of Engineering," says Miller Gorrie, Brasfield & Gorrie's chairman and CEO. "I don't know of a better place to find career-track engineers. I am honored to be a part of this institution and proud to be an alumnus."
