ENGINEERING STUDENT AWARDED NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Rose Marie Cummings, a senior in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University, has been awarded the 2005 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship. She is originally from Deatsville, Ala.

Cummings is one of only four winners in Alabama of the national scholarship, established by the Excellence in Education Foundation to promote academic leadership in mathematics, natural science and engineering.

"The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is very proud to have such a gifted student representing the chemical engineering program," said Larry Benefield, dean of the College of Engineering. "Rose Marie is an outstanding student and also a member of our engineering ambassadors group, the Cupola Engineering Society."
