Gue awarded research grant

Kevin Gue, who joined Auburn University's industrial and systems engineering department this August, has been awarded a $120,000 grant by the Office of Naval Research to explore high density storage systems.

A former naval officer, Gue earned his doctorate in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995. His research interests include distribution, warehousing, and handling of materials.

Gue will build analytical models of floating distribution centers that the Navy will use to improve access to stored supplies and reduce storage costs.

"I look forward to continuing this stream of research because I believe there are important questions here, both from a theoretical and practical standpoint," says Gue. "It also gives me a chance to maintain ties with the defense community, where I have been working for many years."
