Baier Takes Faculty Position at Tennessee Tech
Jim Baier, assistant professor in biosystems engineering, has accepted a new faculty position in the Agricultural Engineering Technology program with the College of Agriculture and Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University. Many students across Auburn's College of Agriculture have taken classes in irrigation design from Baier.
Baier also assisted the Associated Landscape Contractors of America student group in horticulture. Faculty, staff, and students in biosystems engineering held a farewell reception for Jim on August 16 th, where he was presented with a personalized scale model of Old Nancy, the 1905 steam tractor maintained by students and faculty in biosystems engineering.
While at Auburn, Baier was the primary faculty advisor that kept students trained on the operation of Old Nancy. He will certainly be missed at AU, but his friends here wish him well in this new position. Tennessee Tech will certainly benefit from his student-focused attitude and wealth of engineering experience.
