Tim Jacobs currently oversees the revenue management of American Airline’s Miami and St. Louis operations.  In addition, he is involved in the development and implementation of schedule optimization models for American Airlines. His work focuses on the application and solution of large scale nonlinear integer optimization problems for scheduling and revenue management. At American Airlines, his work focuses on strategic and schedule planning, revenue management solutions and the integration of scheduling, RM and pricing decisions. Dr. Jacobs is responsible for the implementation of O&D FAM at AA and American Eagle and the implementation of an O&D-based Demand Driven Dispatch (D3) process at American Eagle. Prior to joining AA in 2000, Jacobs was a member of Sabre’s research and flight scheduling groups. While at Sabre, he led the development of several software products and techniques like Sabre’s patented O&D Fleet Assignment Model (O&D FAM) currently used by several airlines throughout the world.  Dr. Jacobs is an active member of INFORMS and AGIFORS (Airline Group of the International Federation of Operations Research Societies).  As an AGIFORS council member, he has served as President, Past President and Technical Director.  Dr. Jacobs has a Ph.D. from Purdue University in Operations Research and Engineering Systems and is a licensed Professional Engineer in several states.
