ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • B.E. (Civil Engineering), Punjab Engineering College (Chandigarh) ,India,2002
  • M.E. (Civil Engineering), Auburn University, Auburn, AL, 2007

RESEARCH TOPIC

  • Dissertation research topic is "Analysis of salinity-induced variable density flow in groundwater systems"
  • Research Advisor: Dr. Prabhakar Clement

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE/ BACKGROUND
Numerical Modeling/Coding (FORTRAN/MATLAB):

  • Henry's semi-analytical solution
  • Variable density flow and solute transport using Finite Difference method (development of DCODE)
  • Using SEAWAT

Physical Modeling:

  • Laboratory experiments (physical) of two-dimensional seawater intrusion problem in porous media
  • Field experiments to study the fate and transport of saltwater infiltrating in to the groundwater aquifer (supported by IWMI, Sri Lanka)
  • Intermediate-scale laboratory experiments to assess the impact of tsunami conducted at CESEP, Colorado School of Mines

TEACHING EXPERIENCE (G.T.A.) for 6 semesters
Civil Engineering Analysis (CIVL 3010) using MATLAB
®:
Conduct 3 hr Lab sessions every week. The course starts with MATLAB® fundamentals, in-built function usage and programming concepts.
Later sessions include programming of numerical methods used in Civil Engineering (like Newton Raphson, Bisection, Gauss Elimination,
LU Decomposition, Trapezoidal rule, Simpson's rule etc, solving differential equations). The course is taken by undergraduate (Jr. / Sr.) students.
