Space Mission Design Lecture 26

What's happening in space on ISS:

SM Battery #1 R&R:   The crew removed and replaced the SM 800A Battery #1.  The replaced battery is currently on and cycling.

Avionics Air Assembly (AAA) Cleaning:  The crew performed the fan inspection and cleaning of the Air Revitilization rack.  The velocicalc was used to measure air velocity at the AAA inlet prior to and upon completion of the inspection and cleaning.  The air flow data showed significant improvements at the completion of this task.  For this activity the Major Constituent Analyzer (MCA) was unpowered.  Following the cleaning, the MCA had a full calibration performed, was put in standby overnight, and will have a zero calibration performed tomorrow.

Payload Activities:  The crew performed the Advanced Diagnostic Ultrasound in Microgravity (ADUM), experiment by performing facial scans and downlinking realtime data of the ultrasound.  The Crew completed Serial Network Flow Monitor (SNFM) Payload Familiarization Training and participated in a conference with the payload developer.  The purpose of SNFM is to capture on-orbit packet statistics to validate ground-based Medium Rate Data Link (MRDL) models and enhance existing LAN monitor functions.
