Space Mission Design Lecture 16 What's happening in space: Space Tourism Initiative Launched Rack Corridor Clean Up: The crew spent time completing the remaining portion of the Rack Corridor Clean Up. This activity is a strategic plan to clean up stowage onboard station that will help prepare future crews get ready for return to shuttle flight logistics operations. Among the items found were 5 additional reams of paper. This gives us an opportunity to possibly reduce up mass on 16P and fly additional high priority items. 8S/9S Timeline Review: The ISS crew spent time today reviewing the timeline for the upcoming joint mission. A conference with Russian planners and payload specialists was conducted. Previous Status (Oct 8): Carbon Dioxide Monitoring Assembly: The crew successfully fit checked tools to be able to install the CDRA sock filters at some point in the future. The crew provided the ground with valuable insight into the current station configuration that will be useful in building operations procedures. 8 Soyuz Motion Control System Test for Undocking: This pre-undocking checkout test, which includes crew testing of the translation and rotation hand controllers, was completed nominally.
