What's happening in space:
Elektron Status: The Elektron was restarted again on October 1st and is currently running in the ??? hybrid configuration in 50 amp mode. This is the same configuration that was tested on September 27th and operated on September 30th. The crew will continue deactivating the unit during sleep periods, and performing Secondary Purification unit checks while operational. The Elektron can be operated in this mode for 20 days at which point the ??? will require regeneration and use of its vacuum valve.
Functional Cargo Block (FGB) Stowage Enclosures: The ISS Commander installed an additional cargo container behind FGB panel 415 in the 25A stowage location. Closeout photos were downlinked and sent to Moscow for specialist review.
Photo/TV: FE-1 performed camera cleaning procedures today on 1 if 3 onboard digital still cameras. The onboard cameras haven't been cleaned since Increment 7. An image check procedure was also executed on the one clean camera so the ground specialists will be able to analyze pixel loss from the camera. Additionally, the imagery requirement for an ISS internal photo survey was complete. This video will be downlinked on Saturday, October 2nd.
Emergency Equipment Inspection: FE-1 performed inspections of emergency lighting in the Airlock and Node 1, as well as the monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and associated emergency equipment. This equipment was found to be in nominal condition.
