Dr. Valenzuela completed his doctorate in industrial engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. His research interests are stochastic modeling and optimization, both theory and applications. His recent research involves stochastic models for the evaluation of production costs and optimization of electric power generation. He teaches courses on Engineering Economy, Stochastic Operations Research, and Information Technology. Dr. Valenzuela is member of INFORMS, IIE, and IEEE.
