About I, Me and Myself !
Welcome !
I completed my schooling at the Vijaya High School,Jayanagar Bangalore(India) and attended Pre-University courses at the National College, Jayanagar., Bangalore. I completed my Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications from P.E.S. Institute of Technology., Bangalore with Distinction.
I couldn't have been gifted with more understanding parents without whose help I wouldn't be in the US in the first place. They have allowed me such a latitude of freedom to pursue anything that I wanted to and have always helped me in distinguishing right from wrong. And also my very naughty brother who I always think about. In short, I miss my family a lot and if there is one shortcoming that I am experiencing in the US, it is the warmth and care that I got from my family in Bangalore.
All through my schooling, I have had a number of friends but some of them have influenced me the most and have stayed in a day to day contact basis. I am forever thinking of them and am very thankful of the choice that I made in making my friends.
Interests
My hobbies include trekking, cycling and reading general books. I love cartoons and my all-time favourites are Tom and Jerry, Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert and Archie. I am very much interested in chanting Vedic hymns and strotras, understanding the linguistics of Indian languages with respect to Sanskrit and in English Etymology.
My other interests include listening to Hindi and Kannada music yesteryears, English pop and soft instrumental music. All time favourites range from M.S.Subbulakshmi and Kunnukudi Vaidyanathan to P.B. Sreenivas and Yanni ! Some of my favourite books are Discovery of India, Mankuthimmana Kagga (by DVG), Grihabhanga (by S.L. Bhyrappa) and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. On the lighter side, I like Frederick Forsythe, Jeffrey Archer and a lot of other writers. Other books that are always on top of my desk are Cosmos by Carl Sagan and A Brief History of Time by Stephan Hawking.
UPDATE
I recently read the autobiography of the six-time Tour de France champion, the legendary Lance Armstrong titled 'It's not about the bike: My journey back to life ' . I recommend this book to everyone who wishes to get inspired; to come up from the depths of gloom, depressions and adversity. And to go on top of the world !
I am also a fan of the greatest armchair detective 'who never lived' - the one and only Sherlock Holmes. Atleast I believe that he did live even outside the minds of millions of readers and his charismatic creator Sir.Arthur Conan Doyle. A few other people whom I really admire are the great explorer Dr.David Livingstone, the inspirational preceptor Dr.S.Radhakrishnan, the genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and the legendary Kannada luminary Dr.DVG amongst others.
