Current Graduate Research Assistants

Shih-Feng (Stanley) Chou has passed the oral preliminary exams and written qualifying exams and is now a Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Engineering Program.  Stanley is pursuing research into the effects on various synthetic and natural textiles due to exposure to vaporized hydrogen peroxide often used in decontamination/disinfection processes.

Mobbassarhassan Sk has passed the oral preliminary exams and written qualifying exams and is now a Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Engineering Program.  Hassan is investigating hydrogen embrittlement of high strength 4340 steel due to exposure to vaporized hydrogen peroxide often used in decontamination/disinfection processes.

Chan Kyu Kang has passed the oral preliminary exams and written qualifying exams and is now a Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Engineering Program.  He is exploring the effects of obstacles in microfluidic systems on increasing pressure drops and friction factors.  Chan's work is expected to have applications in sensing and investigating microbiological contamination of foods.

John Andress joined the FAA research program in January 2009 .  He is researching  aircraft applications of commercial carbon monoxide sensing technologies.

Amanda Neer joined the FAA research program in August 2009 and she is developing a laboratory technique to simulate bleed air contamination events in aircraft.

Will Kilpatrick joined the FAA research program in August 2010.  Wil's research interests revolve around advanced materials characterization techniques.
