Introduction

This Web game was implemented by Guifan Li as a master's project.

Game rules:

Click mouse at the location you want to place a stone (dot). Whoever achieves a consecutive five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins the game.

You can choose to play against the computer or against another person. If you are new to this game, little practice with the computer may be beneficial. The computer has very limited intelligence, but sometimes it may surprise you.

When playing against the computer, you are assigned the black stone and you take the first move.

When playing with another person, you must register first. The register name should be one word (no space in between) and the name may contain any letters and/or numerics. Press "Who" button to find out who else are currently in the environment. Choose one from the list to connect with. You must have a partner connected before playing. Either of you can select the stone color. After the setup, you may play the game. Remember, black stone always takes the first move. Because of security reason, this version is available to machines in the College of Engineering only.

There is a DOS version of this game which is pretty intelligent. You may download and try it out. This version may be challenging to most people.

Enjoy the game.
