- EXPERIMENTS
- Experiment 1 - Explosive Decompression (aka Mentos & Diet Coke)
- Experiment 2 - Viscosity
- Equipment and Objectives - this is available as a pdf file
- Explanation of Viscosity - about 8 years ago I put together a quick and dirty primer on viscosity for freshmen/sophomores; note that I don't mention Newtonian vs non-Newtonian, etc.
- Experiment 3 - Piping (aka Friction Loss in Pipes and Fittings)
- Experiment 4 - Centrifugal Pump
- Experiment 5 - Fluidized Bed
- Equipment and Objectives - this is available as a pdf file
- Equipment Manual - this is available as a pdf file. Note that this is the manual from
the original equipment manufacturer; some items may have been changed over the years. For example, a blower is no longer used to provide
the gas stream through the bed.
- A nice Fluidization Tutorial by Dr. Martin Rhodes of Monash University (Australia)
is available. Be sure to check out his 'Video 1'.
- And finally, here's an example of possible hysteresis that has nothing to do with a fluidized bed
- Experiment 6 - Evaporator
- Experiment 7 - Food Engineering
- Experiment 9 - Unsteady State Heat Transfer
