"A Brief Introduction to the World of Environmental Consulting” By David Stejskal and Jonathon Childs, CH2MHILL, Montgomery

 

This presentation will focus on the following the following four topics:

1) What is the engineering consulting business?  What do we do? – General overview of the consulting world and important qualities of a good consultant.  We will discuss a variety of opportunities available in the engineering consultant field, and try and explain what it means to be a consultant.

2) Who is CH2M HILL? - General overview of CH2M HILL, discussing who we are, what work we do both as a company and some discussions one the types of work we personally do.  We will highlight opportunities for consulting work and other areas of opportunities within CH2M HILL.

3) General discussion of the Montgomery WTP Expansion Project – Overview of the project highlighting major project decisions and challenges faced.  Brief discussion of new technologies added and the impact on the Montgomery water system.

4) WEF Student Membership and Student Chapter - What is WEF? Will discuss the benefits of WEF student membership and explore the option of forming a WEF Student Chapter.

 

Jonathon Childs received his BCE in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in 1994 later received his MS in Civil Engineering from Auburn in 1996.  Mr. David Stejskal received his BCE in Civil Engineer in 2000 and MS in CE in 2002, both from Auburn University.  They currently work as environmental consulting engineers at the CH2MHILL office in Montgomery, Alabama.
