Most of the material covered on exams will be from lectures, project and the textbooks. Class attendance and team participation is required; it is essential if you expect to do well in this class. There will be both announced and unannounced in-class or in-lab quizzes. There is material presented in the lecture that is not in the text. Graded in-class assignments or labs can be made-up only for excused absences and only for absences preceded by an email to the instructor. Excused absences are limited to excused illness, approved university travel or excused professional travel including interview trips. Personal travel, student fraternity/soriety or student government activities, on-campus placement interviews or personal employment during scheduled class time will not be excused. Your responsibility is to your scheduled class.
Policies regarding class attendance and academic dishonesty are specified in the Tiger Cub Student Handbook. Make-up exams may not be given in which case the grade for the final exam may be substituted for an exam that is officially excused. Academic dishonesty will be reported to the Academic Dishonesty Committee.
Students who need accommodations are asked to arrange a meeting the first week of classes, or as soon as possible if accommodations are needed immediately. If you have a conflict with my office hours, an alternate time can be arranged. To set up this meeting, please contact me by E-mail. Bring a copy of your Accommodation Memo and an Instructor Verification Form to the meeting. If you do not have an Accommodation Memo but need accommodations, make an appointment with the Auburn Program for Students with Disabilities, 1244 Haley Center, 844-2096, Dr. Kelly Haynes, Director and refer to their website under the AU Academic section.
Homework is due at the beginning of each class, no credit is given for late HW.

If normal class and/or lab activities are disrupted due to a high number of students experiencing illness or crisis situation (such as widespread H1N1 flu outbreak), the syllabus and other course plans and assignments may be modified to allow completion of the course. If this occurs, an addendum to your syllabus and/or course assignments will replace the original materials.
