Environmental Nanobiotechnology Laboratory |

|
RESEARCH INTERESTS Our research group answers the fundamental biological questions in Environmental Engineering field including bioremediation and wastewater treatment. We utilize the gene monitoring tools of a DNA biosensor using multifunctional nanoparticle labels and general (meta)genomic approaches. Specific research area includes: · Nanobiotechnology and Biosensors (NanoGene assay) - Pathogenic bacteria detection - Antibiotic resistance detection · Environmental Microbiology/Microbial population dynamics - Oxidative stress induced by nanoscale zero-valent iron - Biotransformation of chlorinated compounds (perchlorate) - Impact of household products on multiple antibiotic resistance · Sustainability for energy and water resources system - Biodiesel production from sustainable sources
NOTICE/NEWS 1. Currently open for undergraduate and graduate candidates. Those who are self-motivated and interested in biologically oriented environmental engineering research, are encouraged to apply to ason AT auburn.edu. |
