The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has a long and superior reputation for providing Auburn students with a firm grounding in an engineering education, dating back to the 1870s. The Engineering Learning Community welcomes first-year students into this tradition and provides them with a supportive environment to meet others who are enrolled in their curriculum and facing the challenges of pre-engineering. Math placement will be determined prior to Camp War Eagle via the Math Placement Test. Learning community applicants are asked to complete the test no later than May 15 and students MUST be in either Pre-Calculus or Calculus I to participate in this learning community. Students will be placed in math study teams and therefore this math class will be integral to their experience. Students participating in the Alabama Power Academic Excellence Program or the Honors College are discouraged from applying for an Engineering Learning Community due to scheduling conflicts, but are welcome to explore other learning communities.
