Undergraduate Research

Most undergraduate students find benefits in working on various laboratory-based research projects. These projects allow students to apply academic concepts in hands-on laboratory settings. They also permit students to work more closely with individual faculty members and explore materials engineering specializations. Students are able to expand upon these practical experiences through internships and industry co-ops.

These "real-world" benefits are what often set Auburn University graduates apart from others during pursuit of postgraduate employment. In addition, many materials engineering graduates have co-authored papers or presented papers at conferences as a result of their laboratory experience.
