Auburn University is offering a 2012 Computer Science for All (CS4ALL)
Camp for Students in Grades 7-12
The Auburn University Robo Camp K12 outreach team is offering a CS4ALL Camp in July 2012 for students in grades 7 - 12. Students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students who live within the geographical area of the workshop, but others are welcome to apply.
Since 2005, the Robo Camp K12 outreach program has served over 500 children from the Auburn community and surrounding areas. The purpose of the summer 2012 CS4ALL Camp is to teach basic computer programming skills in a fun environment. Carnegie Mellon University Alice Programming System, Microsoft Kodu programming environment, Lego Mindstorms NXT, and Lego Tetrix robots, Carnegie Mellon University RobotC, Carnegie Mellon University Tekkotsu Programming on Mobile Robots will be used to teach concepts of computer science. Prior computing experience is NOT required; we are especially interested in working with students who are new to computer programming.
The 2012 CS4ALL Camp will be held July 23rd -27thth from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Shelby Technology Center Lab 2205 & 2210 and the Educational and Assistive Technologies Lab, Shelby Technology Center Lab 2214.
There is no fee for this program, but enrollment is limited to 30 (thirty) students. CS4ALL Camp is part of a research study that looks at different ways to teach computer programming. A registration form and consent forms must be received prior to acceptance. The consent forms must be signed by student and parent(s) and returned to the address below.
