History
Engineers Without Borders—Auburn University was founded in 2010. Our members serve the local community through projects at Jean Dean Reading is Fundamental, SIFAT, Tiger Habitat, Boys and Girls Club, and more. In August 2010, a group of 15 members traveled to Quesimpuco, Bolivia for an assessment trip to establish relationships and gather information for potential projects. August 2011, a team of 13 members traveled for the first project implementation trip. They built a solar heated shower for the local school and a sustainable fuel production demonstration with the students. The organization continues to work new projects each school year.
Our parent organization, Engineers Without Borders—USA, is a non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2002 to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students. www.ewb-usa.org
