American Solar Challenge 2003 - July 6th
Arriving in Chicago
After a quick breakfast of Fruit-Loops and Tang, we drove the remaining several hours to Chicago. Traveling through downtown Chicago was an adventure; the traffic was moderate but the Expressways were challenging. We arrived at Northwestern around noon, which was much earlier than we anticipated. We chose to use our time before registration for lunch. After the scenic route around the area, we found a quaint restaurant with great food.
The remainder of the day has been spent avoiding thunderstorms. In between showers, our team worked on the car in preparation for tomorrow. We attended the team meeting tonight which discussed schedules and rules. Afterwards, we spent time working on the car, while continuing to avoid thunderstorms. We are now leaving campus with the hopes of eating and arriving at our hotel this evening. We have an early morning planned, as we are scheduled to arrive back at campus by 6 a.m.
