American Solar Challenge 2003 - July 5th
Departure from Auburn University...
Today our team left Auburn and headed towards Chicago in a caravan consisting of: two 15-passenger vans, Joyner's sedan, and Vickie's truck towing our solar car trailer. We stopped near Huntsville, AL and were greeted by team members' families (the Trueblood's, Voller's, and Livingston's) and news media. We showed our car to the reporters (from the Huntsville Times and WAFF 48 News) and then ate at the Greenbriar BBQ House. We didn't expect much news media to be present at our lunch stop, but we were thoroughly photographed, filmed, and interviewed alongside our solar car before we had a chance to eat a 2:00 P.M. lunch.
We reached our stopping point for the evening in Seymour, IN around 9:30 P.M. We will arrive in Chicago tomorrow afternoon and will begin the registration process for the American Solar Challenge.
