American Solar Challenge 2003 - July 20th
Arizona
For all of those who have missed the daily solar car update, it is because the teams are in the desert and do not have internet access. Chris called me this morning and asked me to send out the following information.
Everything is going well. They did 60 miles on I-40 yesterday as they went from Albuquerque to Gallop and then to Holbrook. It rained really hard yesterday for about 10 minutes so the Auburn team pulled off the road and was able to get the car under a shelter to protect it. Other than that, it was either sunny or cloudy yesterday.
This morning they are heading for Flagstaff, Arizona. Jeff is driving this morning and Matt this afternoon. They will do about 90 miles on the interstate today. The total miles they will achieve today is 250 miles. They are very glad that they have made all the check points. Many teams are not making check points.
