This past May our team participated in the American Solar Challenge Qualifier. This event was held at Heartland Park in Topeka, KS. By participating in this Qualifier event, we were able to successfully qualify our solar car to compete in the cross-country race in July 2003.
Highlights from the May Qualifier include:
- Qualification to compete in the 2003 American Solar Challenge in July
- Overall 5th place (out of 15 registered teams)
- Fastest quarter-mile drag race speed. (46.6 mph, just 0.4 mph shy of the record)
