The Auburn University Formula SAE Racing Team has had a very eventful week. On Tuesday, March 31st, the team effort and sacrifice paid off in the form of a driving race car. The whole team watched intently as their creation made its maiden drive under power down Wilmore Drive at 9:15pm. The 2009 car completed the 45 minute shakedown with only a few minor issues. The rest of the week was spent preparing the car for its first major test of the year.

The team left for Laurens, South Carolina on Friday, April 3rd for the first Spring Michelin TireTest. After making some small adjustments Friday night and early Saturday morning, we arrived at the facility for a complete day of testing. The car ran the test with no major issues, and drove for most of the test period. It was a very successful event, and we are excited about returning in early May. The team would like to thank Michelin for use of their test facility and for their hospitality during the event. We look forward to a successful partnership again this year. War Eagle!
