Maule Sponsor Visit

As part of its yearly round of sponsor visits, the Formula team recently made the trek out to Moultrie, GA to visit our friends at Maule Air, who donate tubing and sheet metal to be used in constructing our frame and other chassis components. Rob, Nate, and Elliot took the new truck on its first long distance trip to show Brent and David Maule the new car.
As usual, they gave the boys the grand tour of the facilities. Maule manufactures and sells worldwide single-engine aircraft. What makes it especially interesting for us is to see some of the same operations that we perform done on a much larger scale. This is especially true in the area of frame fabrication.
After the tour there was the obligatory driving demonstration. The on-site airfield is the perfect venue for such a show and Rob made use of the opportunity to show off the car’s performance ability. After a few burnouts, donuts, and acceleration runs Brent and David their turn in the driver’s seat. Like most new drivers they were apprehensive at first but quickly got the hang of it and we hope they had a blast.
We look forward to the Maule trip every year and we thank Brent and David for always welcoming us back, as well as for their very faithful generosity. Thanks guys! We hope to see you on campus for the Sponsor Appreciation Day!
